Running and supplements are something that a surprisingly few number of people would put together. Lots of people understand the need to eat healthily and to combine good wholesome foods with a balanced running program but not many runners, joggers or athletes look at the vitamins and minerals side of things.

Brain Supplements

One of the best products that can make a real difference to your running is the traditional fish oils such as Omega three. These are the oils that go into many brain supplements and not only do they help keep your body functioning at its best but they also have a positive impact on your mood and your well being.

In terms of running and triathlon, fish oils can help with recovery of muscles and joints as well as helping to keep your joints mobile as you age. There is scientific proof that healthy fish oils and brain supplements have a very good chance of guarding against the attrition that road running causes and they are recommended by most health professionals.

I love running, and I mean I really love running. So much so that when I cant run I get very moody and sometimes all I can think about is when I am going to get my next running fix. I call it a fix as this really is what it is. No matter how stressed I get or how tired I feel, one good run can cure all my ails and make me feel on top of the world again.

Running down the long walk is one of my favourite routes

Bearing this in mind, this week has been one of the longest working weeks ever so far. I have been up to my eyeballs in projects and analysis so much so that I haven’t stood up from my desk sometimes for six hours at a time. Now the office where I work has a fully equipped gym that i try to use twice a week but this week I haven’t even been able to squeeze in a quick sprint on the treadmill.

So when I came home from work today, instead of sitting, eating and wathcing TV I decided to sit, eat and then go for a run in the freezing cold. 10k and 50 minutes later and I feel more awake than I have in about three days and I know that I am going to have problems sleeping later! Wouldnt trade this running high for the world though!

Happy running and jogging Garmin watch lovers!

Running and combat boots aren’t something that you might think go together but let me tell you that they very much do so!

Nike have been making running shoes for years now but recently they have started producing a range of boots for army personnel. These tactical shoes were born from four years of extensive testing and are available to all civilians and those involved in the security industry alike.

They have been designed with performance in mind and are both flexible and durable. They also are one of the fastest drying models around – yet another great reason why so many people are putting their trust in the nike kit.

Synthetic leather makes these shoes very durable and they are some of the highest performing shoes around. For more information on the nike combat shoes range or any of the running, fitness or armed service personnel ranges then you should consult the Nike Army Boots website

So for something a little bit different now!

Liquefied natural gas or LNG for short is a type of natural gas that has been shrunk 600 times so that it can be transported much more easily.

Some of you may have heard that the USA is set to start exporting LNG from 2015 onwards due to the boom in shale gas that they have been experiencing in this past few years as well as a glut in demand that is freeing up excess supply. There are a few outlets for this shale gas and one of those is the Sabine Pass lng terminal in Texas.

A company called Cheniere Energy is turning their old re-gassification terminal into a liquefaction terminal so that they can begin exporting LNG to countries such as Japan, India and Europe who rely heavily on energy imports.

So far, four separate companies have signed deals with Cheniere energy for their LNG including the following players:

Sabine Pass LNG Export Companies:

BG

Gail (India)

Gas Natural Fernosa

Kogas

As other companies in the US follow Cheniere energy into the export market, we can but watch as we see a previously forecast tight global LNG market potentially become awash with up to 50 million tons per anum of new gas before 2020.

For more LNG information such as market news, see WhatLNG.com

Motorola MOTOACTV

The new MOTOACTV from Motorola is a next generation fitness tracker and GPS gadget that is also a smart MP3 player. Not only can you track and record up to 30 training stats in real time, but you can also listen to music that you have transferred to the unit from your music library or Itunes. The Motoactv will keep track of the various songs that you listen to and perform best to, and will then collate them into one convenient playlist for you to listen to you on your hard training sessions.

Motorola MOTOACTV

There are a number of features that Motorola have included on their MOTOACTV that make it a next generation fitness tracker. You race your previous workouts, pre-set pace or routes that you have downloaded from Motoactv.com.

Another new feature is the wi-fi syncing of all your training data. Every time you finish a training session and then walk in range of your home wifi, the Motorola MOTOACTV will upload your training sessions to the Motoactv online training portal without you having to worry about a thing. This takes the memory work out of uploading all of your training sessions to the online store.

There are a number of other features that make the Motorola MOTOACTV an advanced GPS fitness tracker. For a full review, the best thing to do is to check out the Motorola website or the review on RunTheLine.com.

The Garmin Edge 200 is a cut down and less powerful (but better value for money) cycling computer from Garmin. The Edge 200 records several of the most important training stats that you need to understand your ride, but doesn’t have any of the top end features that the Edge 800 or some of the more advanced cycling computers have such as GPS mapping navigation or heart rate sensor compatibility. Its simplicity is its beauty however as the unit is virtually ready to go straight from the box. The unit is supplied with two cycle mount kits that install quickly any easily using the rubber bands provided and then you can start the computer with one click of a button. When you are out riding, the computer will tell you your average speed, distance, time and calories burned. You can also keep track of altitude and lap speed/distance/time for extra control over your rides.

Garmin Edge 200 In The Box

Once you have finished training you can then upload all of your training data to the garmin connect online training portal. Here you can join one of the worlds largest communities of fitness lovers and you can swap and share training courses as well as analysing your training in more detail.

The best way to understand just how powerful the Garmin Connet portal is, is to go and have a look around the site for yourself. You can register for a free account and there is absolutely noting to pay once you have bought a compatible garmin device such as any of the Edge or Forerunner series.

The only other thing that is worth mentioning about the garmin Edge 200 is the battery life. The unit takes 14 hours to run out of battery and then will take only three hours to charge either via the mains charging cable or the USB adapter supplied in the box.

The new Suunto Quest is an advanced running watch that features some pretty impressive heart rate training functionality as well as offering a very social and very advanced online training portal in the form of the Moves Count online portal.

The Suunto Quest is available in two colours

This Suunto quest review is going to explain some of the features of the watch as well as some tips for using and running with such an advanced tool.

The Quest has a 120 hour battery life. This is a large improvement on any of the Garmin Forerunner watches as you dont need to worry about keeping the watch fully charged all of the time.

Another great aspect of the Suunto Quest is the ability for the watch to record training runs of up to 20 hours. This makes the watch perfect if you are considering using it for ultra running or ling distance triathlon training.

The online Moves Count software is pretty exceptional as it offers the ability for users to create and join groups of other Suunto users. Those users can see each others training as well as talking to each other in the form of a shout box. The Moves Count Portal also offers the ability for users to create their own events for other Suunto users to join. This is a great feature as it enables the user to publicise events and races in their local area.

That just about does it for this brief few words about the Suunto Quest. For another great review, see the article at RunTheLine

Half Marathon Training For Beginner Runners

Ahead of you set out for your very first half marathon training run, it really is crucial that you just have the right outfits and trainers. Since the months progress closer to colder winter season days, you will need to assure you’ve snug running trousers that do not rub and tops that could be removed easily if demanded Despite the fact that you might be cold for the start of the run, you shortly heat up and can get prematurely fatigued in the event you heat up an excessive amount. Running Trousers and shorts have to be selected properly to generate positive they suit nicely. The very last thing you want on a training run is really a restricted pair of running trousers/shorts rubbing in an embarrassing position. This can be prevented by investing in top quality undergarments such as Nike Pro Compression pants or Cycling Shorts, but it’s clearly advised you opt for high quality trousers in the first area. Socks also play a significant element. Blisters certainly are a runner’s worst enemy, especially when you’re breaking in new trainers. A fantastic pair of running socks will minimize the incidences of blisters and take moisture far from your ft. Other objects you might take into account are gloves, a hat, and also a reflective strip for evening running. This is certainly beneficial practice for any run and not just half marathon training. Like pretty much every thing in everyday living, much more generally than not, you receive that which you buy. In regards to buying running apparel, I are not able to strain the importance of investing that very little bit additional, to be sure which the apparel you buy are relaxed and made particularly for runners as this can prvent all kinds of running injuries afterwards on when you’re racing and training or your half marathon routine.

Half Marathon Training

There are lots of half marathon training resources out there.

You’ll find a number of variations of training sessions which can be extra to your beginner half marathontraining programme which not only include wide variety to your runs, but in addition make your cardiovascular process adapt superior. Within the half marathon training programmes, you might come across a variety of terms which indicate how quickly and what type of training session you ought to be undertaking. Under is a summary of what they signify.Frequently regarded to become a “recovery” or gentle paced jog, an easy jog is performed at a light tempo and no genuine awareness should be paid to time or running speed. Just go to get a cozy jog and stay relaxed with out stressing about checking how rapid you are running each 5 minutes.A steady run is just that. A speed which is faster than a straightforward jog but one particular you still feel cozy with and one particular which you could possibly almost maintain a conversation with someone – and even on your own! In the course of a steady run, you ought to be aiming to maintain your coronary heart at about 65 – 75% of one’s highest coronary heart fee. The genuine velocity of one’s constant run is very dependent with your running capability and might differ enormously, thus the way men and women handle continuous paced runs is very particular person. All you actually will need to remember is it is just a small faster than an idle jog, however , you need to undoubtedly not be aiming to collapse inside of a heap in any of your half marathon training sessions – even though you are new to running or really are a beginner. .

Though most half marathon races are fairly flat, including hill runs for your training can pay out major dividends to your performance. Hill running might be executed by either running up a steep hill and again down all over again in excess of numerous repetitions, or running at a continual pace with a hilly route. Running up hills assists to increase not simply the strength in your own legs, but in addition your heart. By overloading your coronary heart and rendering it function harder than it might on a flat surface area, it brings about an adaptation method in your own cardiovascular process and brings on your own fitness in leaps and bounds. It needs to be stressed nevertheless that these training periods are hard work and your coronary heart fee may get as higher as 95% of maximum. Do not carry on for those who experience faint or light headed. The volume of repetitions or distance of such runs varies according to your fitness level and progression while in the training programme.
If training goes properly so you would really like to push all by yourself more, by all suggests “dip” into the intermediate programme and include a training run from there into your timetable.

It is important that you simply apply your pre half marathon race meal in your own training, therefore you are acquainted with what works for you personally. A typical meal is porridge or muesli, adopted by a piece of fruit. This meal is effortlessly digestible and will increase your blood sugar levels while in the early morning. Try out it out to begin with to create positive your abdomen doesn’t have got a reaction to it and in no way modify your typical meal on race day. Attempt not to depart you meal too late. Depart no less than two hours for your meal to become digested, or else you will find yourself which has a stitch. So far as fluids are anxious, once again stick with that which you have rehearsed. In case you commonly possess a coffee or tea then great, nonetheless it is significant which you hydrate oneself before the race. A sports activities consume with occasional sips of drinking water with the hrs foremost to the begin is fine, but don’t preserve consuming quite a lot of fluid for those who are definitely hydrated.

10k Training and Running a 10k

This article is going to help you understand how to keep a 10k training blog as well as offering tips and advice for running and jogging.

Blogging was something that I by no means actually thought about until a handful of months ago when I picked up a nasty hip problem. Relegated to the house with no way of participating in my chosen sport of jogging for a good 12 months or so, I made the decision that rather than moping around and feeling sorry for myself I would take action and begin my own Jogging Blog site. Not only was this a wonderful way for me to keep myself busy and occupied, right after the 1st number of articles I realised that I in fact knew quite a great deal about jogging (especially 10k training) and running a blog was a perfect way for me to pass on my expertise to others. Even although I couldnt train or directly train other runners down at my local working club, running a blog allowed me to spread my message out to many more people and meet lots of intriguing folks a the same time.

10k running is something that lots of people get lots of enjoyment out of. 10k training is wholesome and good.

10k Running Training

If you are thinking about beginning your own personal running, jogging or training weblog then I would offer you the following guidance

For more 10k training resources see the 10k running training post here.

Make confident you are passionate about running – This sounds like a easy tip but making sure that you simply are quite into your chosen topic will allow you to not just get around that infuriating writers block but will also enable you to maintain your interest in blogging when issues aren’t generally going your way and say for instance your website isn’t generating as many traffic.as you expected. I really like writing about 10k training and running so motivation was never a challenge personally.

Get your facts correct!- In the event you stick together with your blogging for an extended period of time then ultimately you are going to be attracting big numbers of followers to your weblog. This isnt a difficulty if you’re just say writing about your training goals and achievements, but should you start off giving issues like health and injury suggestions out then you may discover your self getting into trouble in case you dont truly know what you are talking about! To stay away from the headache, make certain you get your details straight appropriate from the word go.

Study other blogs- Once more, this sounds like basic advice but reading and commenting on other running or health blogs in your subject niche will not only give you inspiration for your individual website posts but will also bring you a constant stream of website visitors and boost your rankings in Google. This is vital if you’re looking to attract folks by way of search engines that will never ever have seen or heard about your weblog before.

Dont over publish- Nothing at all is worse than over posting. Not only will it wear you out but furthermore it isnt fair on your readers who will almost surely have too much to go through already thanks to their hectic modern lives! Publish at most twice a week and genuinely think about the themes that you are writing about. Trust me, it will probably be much better for everyone if you do! This is the reason I make sure I do not over-post when it comes to 10k training.
